Project Updates

The Free Games site will need at least another week of work before we can release it.  Sorry for the wait, but everything needs to be perfect upon opening.

All Call-In groups have been recorded.  There’s at least 4 hours worth of discussion and I’ll work on it after the Free Games site is posted.  The Call-Ins will be assigned to Episode 150.

I have resurrected some old Battlefield 1942 guides I did back in Episode 30.

We are trying to repopulate BF 1942.  A lot of community members are dusting their old copies off or purchasing it for the first time.  I am also working with two clans to organize a mass ‘42 Pirates Mod revival.  If you haven’t played it, you are missing out on some insistence hilarious action.  The game is no more than $10, so get your copy today!

Episode 146 has a 40 minute discussion on technical PC stuff and gameplay videos.

The first player critique for aesthetics has been done on Soldier Front sniping.

The Free Games site is close to ready.  I hope to release it as early as 2 weeks, but it may be as late as 5 depending on how smoothly finalization goes.

New Info - I have resurrected some Battlefield 1942 guides I did in ATFO Ep. 30.  Find them in the tutorial section.

Swiper Smarts Episode 1 is now posted!  Because we recorded the first segment early (and it was our first time), the show starts out a bit slow.  However it gets better and better as time goes on.  Even if you aren’t into the questions, you can jam to Second Hand Panic’s music which is playing throughout.

Episode 1 does contain mistakes and problems, after listening please head over to the discussion thread and tell us what you liked, disliked and any improvement ideas.  From your feedback we will be able to create a solid show, after all it only took us 9 Tourney Talk episodes to go from poor to incredible!

I have created a thread for submitting Contestant Battle Category ideas.  If you have any let us know.

We need a Specialist for the next episode.  If you think you have what it takes then sign up!  Contestant signups won’t be available for a couple weeks.

ATFO Episode 144 is short, but I have some good info on Speed Tests and interpreting data

This week’s FFN is Battlefield 1942.  If you have the game, this will be a perfect opportunity to learn the basics of Conquest.

Swiper Smarts - The ATFO Gameshow

Keith ‘Fox Boy’ and I have created our very own ATFO gameshow entitled Swiper Smarts.  All you need to play is a microphone and there are many opportunities to win prizes, become an elite, and gain fame!

Some of the show’s features:

• Tournament competition where the top winners get guaranteed prizes
• Bonus opportunities which give half of the show’s contestants a chance to win prizes
• An elite group of members can become Specialists who are the ‘Bosses’ of the game
• Players will know the question categories ahead of time
• Question categories will always follow a player, nobody will have a disadvantage if they plan ahead
• 4 ‘regular’ episodes per season, each containing a chance to win prizes
• 4 ‘tournament’ episodes per season to find the best player
• 1 Specialist Title Challenge episode where each Specialist has to defend their title from all
• Forum medals awarded to top players and Specialists

We hope you look into the show some more and register to become a contestant or Specialist.  It may seem like a lot to take in right now, but you will understand the show better after we record an episode.  We just need some brave members to sign up first!

Bad Company 2 Server

Bad Company 2 has finally been patched, which means the server can easily be populated again!  We have already had 2 successful nights.  If you are reading this and have the game, please join us!  Weekly play times are Thursdays and Saturdays starting at 10pm EST (7pm PST).

Episode 141 has some quick MW2, some good tips on Urban Terror (and other games), and a nice demo of Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West.

*For some reason the video cuts to black occasionally. I cannot fix the problem for this episode, but I am working to prevent it from happening again.

Next FFN will be Modern Warfare 2.  We will start by completing a few Spec Ops missions then move onto multiplayer.  If you need account information please post in the Friday Fight Night thread.
